General Research: 

Creation of on-line learning systems and virtual communities of practice that serve health practitioners, researchers, and academics.

Current Research: 

"Online Nutrition Science Training for Public Relations Professionals" (Study of the effectiveness and efficacy of online science training for non-scientists); "Hybrid Distance Learning for Graduate Students in Nutrition Science and Policy in the Middle East" (Program evaluation of the RAK degree program)

Distributed hybrid distance learning models in engineering; Distance learning models for continuing professional education in health; Large-scale interaction strategies in on-line asynchronous learning environments; Communication protocols for on-line synchronous environments; Violence prevention (bullying); HIV prevention; Mental health promotion; Alternative technology access;
